Founder & Director
Michelle is a mental health nurse and consultant with extensive experience across forensic mental health, custodial healthcare, organisational leadership and independent system review. With more than 25 years working in complex, high-risk and trauma-exposed environments, she brings a rare combination of frontline clinical expertise, executive leadership and operational advisory experience.
She has undertaken independent reviews, inspection-style assessments and advisory work across custodial and justice settings, including work supporting the NSW Inspector of Custodial Services in reviewing healthcare delivery within correctional environments.Michelle has also provided expert witness advice in coronial matters and has supported organisations responding to operational risk, workforce pressures, critical incidents and system scrutiny.
As the founder and director of Signifuture, Michelle partners with executive leaders, justice organisations, health and human services, and custodial providers to strengthen governance, improve operational performance and build psychologically safer, trauma-informed systems of care. Her work includes consulting, project leadership, independent reviews and workforce capability development across complex service environments.
Michelle is also an experienced educator and has written and delivered postgraduate courses in forensic mental health and custodial healthcare. Her approach is grounded in practical, real-world experience and a deep understanding of the human impact of working within high-pressure and trauma-exposed systems.
Forensic Mental Health & Project Lead
With extensive experience across forensic mental health, custodial environments, police and higher education, Sem brings a unique combination of operational expertise, clinical insight and strategic leadership to high-risk and highly regulated settings. An accredited Vicarious Trauma Supervisor and accredited psychometric testing practitioner, She holds a Masters in Forensic Mental Health alongside formal project management qualifications and leads large- scale projects across both government and private high-security correctional environments.
Sem expertise spans governance, operational implementation, workforce capability, trauma-informed systems and psychosocial risk management. She has developed Masters-level mental health program courses for universities and currently work as sessional academic staff within forensic and mental health programs. Known for her ability to translate complex operational objectives into practical, achievable actions, she support leaders and teams to strengthen capability, implement sustainable systems and improve outcomes within complex operational environments.
